The distance is great, but the terrain isn't challenging. Be sure you are capable of a century ride before you join us. This would make a good first century if you have been training.
Our Southfork Shashay has been popular in the past. Again this year we are adding a century by starting in Harpster and riding the southfork all the way to Elk City.
The June date should mean the river will still be dramatic yet the temps should be moderate. Lee reports about 1500 feet of elevation gain on the way to Elk City but no major climbs. Water is available at a roadside park and a forest service building as well as at a spring.
We can have a lunch in Elk City before returning on the same route to Harpster RV.
We'll start at 8:30 am. We should reach Elk City by noon or 12:30. The return should be faster.
