It has been some time since I missed a major club ride. Looks like the Elk City Cycle a week ago Saturday was a big success. Donna reported on Facebook that Gary would like it to be a regular ride on our calendar. I guess that may be because apparently he paced-lined to a fast century. Congratulations to Paul Hohnsbehn on doing his first ever century. "Not only did Paul finish, he finished his first century in under 6 hours."
Roger Dumbeck reports that group may have done a 5.5 hour century. No wonder Gary wants another stab at it. :-}
Thanks to Roger, the money collected to buy gas for SAG was donated to a worthy cause.
Hello!!! My name is Kaye Carlson and I am the Site Manager for
the Senior Round Table in Pomeroy; where we prepare, serve, and deliver
to meals to senior citizens in Pomeroy. You don't know me but we have a
friend in common; Mr. Roger Dumbeck. While you know him as an avid
bicyclist; I know him as a dedicated volunteer at the Senior Round
Table. Three times a week Roger takes time out of his day to deliver
meals to homebound senior citizens. You cannot imagine both my
surprise and delight when Roger arrived at Round Table on Monday morning
with your extremely generous donation. We are a nonprofit organization
that relies on state funds and private donations and as you know
state funds are constantly being cut and because of the current ecomony,
donations are getting scarce; so your unexpected "gift" was very much
appreciated. On behalf of myself and the staff and volunteers
at the Pomeroy Senior Round Table I would like to give a big thank you
and all your members and participants in the Elk City Cycle Ride who
made this donation possible. Thank you Kaye Carlson Site Manager
