Easy. Flat. Likely head wind one way or another. Turn around when you wish.

Out and Back

Nisqually John: 30 miles

Wawawai Park: 60 miles

You could ride down to Wawawai Canyon on an almost entirely flat course by riding to Red Wolf, crossing the bridge and taking a left past the Port of Wilma . Wawawai is 30 miles from Southway. There are restrooms and water in the park but you have to climb up to get into the park and up again to get out of the park.

Instead you might choose to turn around at Steptoe Canyon about 12.5 miles down. You’ll know it because the road crosses a bridge and splits going up the canyon. Or go a couple of more miles to Nisqually John’s Landing. There is a public restroom at the landing but no running water. That should be a 30 mile round trip. The traffic should be light west of Red Wolf. I don’t recommend riding East from Red Wolf on the Whitman county side during the week. Too much truck traffic.
